The area of the “Möllner Seen” extends from north to south with the “Hegesee”, “Schmalsee”, “Lüttauer See”. The terrain is formed by the last ice age and shows height differences of almost 40 meters. Dry outwash plains with forests, fields or succession areas characterize the landscape. Also the wooded steep slopes and the groundwater-dependent valleys in the meltwater channel with the marsh forests, marshes, lakes and streams and dead ice holes are typical. The “Pinnau” and the “Mühlengraben” flow through the “Möllner Seenkette”. Lake “Lütau” has a size of 59 hectares and is 16.7 m deep.
