The Schaalsee is with 24 km ² the largest and with 72 meters the deepest lake of Northern Germany. The water is part of the biosphere reserve and offers nature lovers a variety of experiences. Sea eagles, cranes, otters and other rare species are native here. Even the beaver has settled again.

Parts of the lake are drivable with a licence. We start with a large canoe at the Schaalsee camp, an experienced helmsman brings you safely to your destination, the “Kutscherscheune” in Großzecher, a café with a restaurant on a courtyard. On the lakeside terrace you can enjoy the famous “Kutschertorte” (cake). After 1 hour stay we paddle back to the Schaalsee camp.

This tour is particularly suitable for people who want a sense of security, appreciate the group experience in the Grand Canadians or prefer rather a leisurely tour than a sporty one.
