Small school trip with a high experiential value.
On foot it goes from the hiking trail next to the Trave along the Brenner Moor nature reserve. The special thing of the area are the salt springs, which are located next to the boardwalk and which leads along Torfstich areas to the banks of a Trave cut-off meander and finally to the Trave itself. Reed and tall forbs, willow groves and alder swamp characterize the landscape. Then the path leads to the monastery Nütschau, and to the wooden bridge, which passes over the Trave. There, the canoes are taken over, and it goes comfortably with the slight current back to the youth hostel. Upon request, the hostel offers a barbecue directly at the pier.
